Join the circus
Circus training combines exercise, creativity and togetherness. We offer weekly classes to all ages and levels, from babies to adults and from beginners to experts. We also organize short courses, circus camps and other training opportunities.
You’d be hard-pressed to find a hobby more versatile than circus arts. In the circus, you can bounce high on a trampoline, balance on a tightrope, swing from a trapeze, toss juggling balls through the air – and so much more! In addition to technical circus skills, the classes develop expressive skills, strength, and flexibility, and provide practice in performing.
Weekly classes
At Circus Helsinki, students practice weekly at the same time and in the same place with their own circus group. Depending on the group, there are 1–2 practice sessions per week. The fall and spring semesters each include 16 practice sessions.
In the children’s and youth circus groups, students practice a wide range of circus disciplines under the guidance of inspiring instructors. The instruction is part of basic arts education.
In family groups, adults and children practice circus skills together in a playful atmosphere.
For adults, we offer general circus groups as well as discipline-specific groups that focus on, for example, aerial acrobatics, dance acrobatics, or handstands.
Children and young people who want to train more intensively and create performances can apply to our intensive training groups. These groups train 4–12 hours per week.
You can find all groups, group descriptions, and course prices on the registration pages.
Short courses, camps and other activities
During school breaks, we organize circus camps and intensive courses on various circus disciplines and circus-related topics. You can find the courses and camps on our registration pages.
Circus professionals and adult amateurs who train independently can participate in our daytime training sessions.
Facilities
We hold classes in the Suvilahti area in two different buildings.
Our main hall, Generaattorisali, is a large 600-square-meter hall where three groups can train simultaneously. Generaattorisali is located at Sörnäisten rantatie 22, Building 1, Door C, 2nd floor.
In the cozy Konttorisali (80 m²), we hold classes for smaller groups of both children and adults. Konttorisali is located at Kaasutehtaankatu 1, Building 7, Door B, 2nd floor.
